Will you be installing an RV air conditioner in the roof of a Motorhome (Class A, Class C, or Class B), Travel Trailer, Fifth Wheel Trailer, Pop-Up Camper, Truck Camper, or Hybrid with a 14" square framed and wired (with 120 volts) opening? If you are replacing an existing unit in an RV with ducting, choose a Ducted unit. Otherwise, you will need a Non-ducted unit which will blow cold air directly from the unit. A ducted ceiling assembly may be controlled by either a handheld remote control (which can be wired to also control a furnace) or it may be used with a "wired" thermostat which mounts on the wall and can control both appliances for heat/cool convenience.

The most popular non-ducted ceiling assemblies are the Universal cool only and Universal with heat strip (which provides a 5600 btu heater right in the ceiling unit). Both units have all controls right on the unit. Also available is the Cool only, wired for wall thermostat which does not include controls on the ceiling--only on the wall.
